’THE TENTH WONDER OF THE WORLD' (Part.6)

As per the doctrin of Siribhuvalaya, this world has emerged from zero (0) and ultimately it dissolves in zero(like emergence of numbers 1 to 9 from 0 and the infinite numbers ultimately dissolving in zero) . Each living being has a distinct and separate individual number. The relative ststes of each living being changes with this nomber. (single number, ten, hondred, thousand etc., ) The relative status again changes  in accordance with previous 'Samskara' (culture) of each living soul. This process, resembling the game of snake and ladderm has been there since crores of years before and  will continue to  exist in future alos.  Like the diffrent numbers ultimately dissolving in zero (0), the individual living beings will also naturally disolve in infinity od vacuun. Till we areable to wualify ourselves to reach this stage, we  will bave  to undergo the ups and downs as in the game of snake and ladder! To attain this qualification and  ultimately vanish ogdissolve in eternity is known as ''Ultimate Liberation'' or   'Salvation' (Sayujya Moksha or Nirjare Moksha) or becpming one with the Lord Supreme.

Kumudemdu Muni has suggestively mentioned that the  practice of Astamangala will lead one to the right path of spiritual pursuit (pl.See Chapter48- Firstlettered Stamba Kavya of the 3rd foot of the whole-poems)

In the 41st- 45th  poems of the first Chapter, 'Rasa Shastra' (method of preparing gold) has been delt with. But it was not possible for yallappa Shastry to comprehend this! Even if he had, he was not aware of  proper collection and processing of flowers for this purpose. In fact, Siribhuvalaya drew the attention of the scholars of those modern days only because of this Rasa Siddhanta!! Since they did not succeed in unearthing the secret of this technique, they, out of frustation, publiszed that Siribhuvalaya is an 'iron-nut to carck' literature and succeed in keeping it away from common people! I have observed that the curiosity or nagligence about Siribhuvalaya that we see today is because of this Rasa Siddhanta only!!

It is said that a 7-page article written by Yellappa Sahastry about Jain mathematics has been preserved in  National Archaelogy along with Sirhbhuvalaya. Another article  of his in picture form delineting the implications fo 64 to the power of 64 is also preserved there. But it may not be proper to Judge him as a mathematical scholar. Let us now  examin a small example: In explaining certain mathematical issues in  the 67th poem of the 51st chapter, he has explained the  aquare of 2 as 4, 4 to the power of 4  as 256;  256 to the power of 256 as  617! hence 256 to the power of 256 as  617!?  The same explanation is also not similarly stated in the original poem of Siribhuvalaya, I  am not much Knowledgeable about mathematics, But I can only  say that this in not the explanation as given  by Kumudendu Muni.

Based on the information given by Kumudendu Muny  in Siribhuvalaya, we come to know that he was a Jain  Brahmin  of  Ikshvaku linege- Saddharma Gotra, dravyanga Sahakhem Jnata vamsha, vrushabha Sutra. These are his particulars befoge he became a Yati. Based on the 'Kumudendu Shataka' of Devappa, K. Srikantaiah has stated that Kumudendu Muni was a  'Deshigana- nandisangha- Kundakundanvaya Vakegacha' yati. Other scholars do not subscribe to this view !!  Kumudendu Muni resided in a lpace called Yalava (Yalavalli) inthe slope of Nandi hills near Kolar, the gold maine of Karnataka. the great seers in Jain tradition Kunda Kundacharya, Jinasenacharya belnged to the preceptor- lineag of  Kumudendu.  Kumudendu Muni was a preceptor (Guru) of the famous  Talakadu kingly Ganga lineage king saigotta Sivamara and the great Emperor  of Karnataka, Amoghavarsha Nrupatunga (whose kingdom extended from river cauveri to godavarari). the sister-in-law  of Amoghavarsha, Jakkilakiyabbe extended great help and  support to the Academy if Arithmetics and Computer Science of Kumudendu Mun. These are facts specifically mentioned in the poetry by Kumudendu Muni; these are naot  any imaginary statements of some researchers. This is very signficant matter.

The total number of  number-circles in Siribhuvalaya is  16000. Each circle has 729 Squares. the  total  number of Squares is 11664000. the numbers from 1 to 64 have been filledin each squares in accordance with a formula. From these  64 numbers  representing the 64  Kannada sound symbols and decodefication of all 11664000 original  letters, the words of all languares of the world of  all times obtain the letter/ word form. The poet claims that no other word is outside this purview! It is puto its detractors to wxamine for themselves and find out the veracity of this statement !

We come accross certain names like 'Jaya Bhandha'  'Mahabandha' etc., in Siribhuvalaya. It therefore, becomes clear  that the Dhavala scripts had  also an alternate name of  'Bandha' also. (pl. see chapror 58, horse-gait hidden litearature  of the foot-poem of poem no. 38) Kumudendu Muni has indicated that all issues dealt in 'Dhavalas' are incroporated in Siribhuvalaya. When the entire literature of the world is incorported in Siribhuvalaya in hundred-thousand-lakh- crore versas (slokas), how can  'Dhavalas' remain outsideits purview? !  'Dhavalas' contain commentaries of the ancient Shatkhandagamas,  and Jains consider them as the most supreme holy scrept. If the Jains properly understand the real vastness of Siribhuvalaya , which holds in itself the essence of Dhavalas' they will be able to appreciate it still better!

K.Srikantaiahhas established the ancientness of Kannada language on the basis of several edicts. Unfortunately  throughout his life time, the then Kannada scholars did not recognize his accpmplishments atall ! the reason : Shikntaiah, who made this wonderful research, came from a village background and had studied uo to 3rd Standard only. It is radher special that such an environment has continued unchanged even now!  Srikantaiahhas showen the style of writing of Kannada poems of thosedays belonging to the period of Saigotta Sivamara (Senior to Amogavarsha Nrupatunga) in a stone edict in Kalbhavi Ramalinga temple of Belgaum district( Indian Antiquary No. 18. 274)

The phenomenon of considering one's own religion as suprim is not a new one!  It was there in vogue about 1200  years ago during the time of Kumudendu Munialso. Jajns, at  that time, might have been under the illusion the they were the followers of the most sacred and best religion. Having noticed this trend, perhaps Kumudendu Muni has said like this: ’ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮರ್ಮವರಿಯದ ಪರಿಪರಿಯ  ಜೈನರದೆಷ್ಟು? -that is, how meny Jains are there who have no Knowledge of the secrets of scriptures? How many devotees of Lord Hari and Lard Shiva are there who are strictly gollowing their religion with out sacrficing the tenet of compassion or sympathy? How many people are there who perform Siddhachakraaradhane withan open mind?  How many people are there who have understood the secret of Knowledge inside themselves? He has thus eXposed the real face of the followers of all religions during the time, previous thme and at all times. (Pl. see chapter 43. 2nd foot- 6th lettered Stamba Kavya) (ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುವುದು)
